It’s been exciting to see The Alphabet Lovers making its way into readers’ hands. Whether they purchased a copy or received an advance reader copy, readers have been spending time with Marcos, his relationships, and all those letters of the alphabet.
REVIEWS MAKE A DIFFERENCE
For an independent author, reader reviews can make a meaningful difference in helping a book find its audience. If you’ve finished The Alphabet Lovers—or have read enough to have some thoughts—we’d love to hear what you think.
Even a sentence or two helps. Reviews can be shared on Amazon, Goodreads, StoryGraph, BookBub, or wherever you normally talk about books. Reviews on social media are always a great way to spread the word about books you love.
QUEER BOOK CLUB
We’re excited to share that The Alphabet Lovers has been selected as the very first book for The Writing Owl Bookstore’s Queer Book Club.
The Writing Owl is a digital bookstore focused on making queer books and authors more accessible to readers, and we’re thrilled to see The Alphabet Lovers helping kick off its new book club.
The first discussion is scheduled for July 17, and author Darran Smith will be joining the conversation.
While you’re checking out the book club, take a look around The Writing Owl Bookstore. Along with queer books, you’ll find Blind Date with a Queer Book boxes, bookish merchandise, and other ways to discover LGBTQ+ stories.
WHAT'S NEXT FROM SEVEN TWELVE BOOKS?
Rather than continuing Marcos’s story, Darran Smith decided to explore the stories of the men who came into his life—and what their lives looked like beyond him. First up: Liam Riordan.
Darran hopes to release Liam’s Lyrics (To the Song of His Life) before the end of the year, with more updates, sneak peeks, and eventually a cover reveal as the project takes shape.
And Liam may not be the only familiar face with another story to tell.
Darran is already thinking about where this universe might go next—and he’d like to know which characters readers connected with most. If someone from The Alphabet Lovers stayed with you after you finished the book, we’d love to hear who it was.
